Guide to Historic Buildings
Guided walk booklet
Guided walk by Glenthorne House
Guided walk by Almshouses, with residents
The Heritage Lottery Fund grant, made in 2013, facilitated the design and printing of this sixteen-page, fully illustrated booklet, It offers a route for a two-kilometre walk (lasting between one hour and 90 minutes) and information about a dozen or the buildings researched for the History Group’s House History project. (It is available for £3.00 from East Meon Stores, or from One Tree Books in Petersfield, or by contacting this website, with an additional £1.00 p&p.)
The printed guide was the result of a series of steps. In association with the Flower Festival in June 2012 and the House Histories exhibition, the Group organised guided tours around the buildings, and briefing notes were prepared for those leading the tours. These are attached as a PDF. (Edward Roberts led a rehearsal walk, and notes on his tour are also attached.)
Then, an A4 document was prepared, also attached as a PDF, which could be printed out as a guide to the buildings.
