East Meon Map 1869 showing non-conformist chapels, Zoar, Providence and Primitive Methodist.
This map shows three chapels, a Providence (Calvinist) chapel on Chapel Street, where the School now stands, a Primitive Methodist Chapel (see separate page) and a Zoar (Strict Baptist) Chapel, on Temple Lane. The last of these was converted to an RC Chapel, and in the 1990s to private accommodation.
A second map, dated 1896, is attached as a PDF; this no longer shows the Providence chapel, and the chapel in Temple Lane is now named ‘Baptist’.
