Hello!
We would be most grateful for any information about the Blackman family from East Meon. We have traced our family tree back to Thomas Blackman who married Sarah Chase in East Meon on 24 July 1763. My grandfather was George William Blackman b. 1891. His father was also George Blackman, his stepfather Frank Blackman and his mother was Ida Budd 1872 – 1946. My grandfather disagreed with his mum’s second marriage and joined the army. He married Alice Mould from Tisbury. If anyone is interested in making contact please email us on rachelmorgz@hotmail.com (Rachel Morgan granddaughter of George Blackman) and kbla8332extra.co.nz (Pat Blackman daughter-in-law of George Blackman)
As previously advised concerning another picture on this site, the little boy labelled Alan Turner, is in fact me, Alan Richard Morley-McLean. I do not know the name of the girl whose lap I am sat on, but it is not my sister as she was not born then! The lady holding the back of the chair is my late mother, Mrs Joanna McLean (née Morley-Horder), the daughter of Percy Richard Morley-Horder (famous architect and benefactor to East Meon) and his wife Katherine (née Apperly) who owned The Court House, East Meon.
